Angel made a face of slight surprise that he would be joking right now. She wanted to roll her eyes and shrug off the joke, get to business and take care of him. But, she couldn’t help herself. She smiled lightly at first before smiling wider and laughing at him. That was probably why trust Darrin was so easy, he made her laugh and smile all the time without much effort.

"Its okay though, because I know you were just playing hard to get, so I forgive you." Darrin continued, trying to lighten the situation. "But next time, lets try not to run too far. If we'd have gone another block or so I probably would have been out cold."

Angel laughed still and shook her head at him; he really knew how to turn a situation around. She was loosing the red color in her face and she was tucking some her hair back behind her ears.

"If you want to go ahead and help me up we can go back to the car, alright? Maybe we can top the night off with just a cruise or something?" Darrin asked.

Angel licked her lips hesitantly.

“Are you sure? I mean, I can still help you over and all but…If you would rather I can stay…” She said.

Angel considered it for a moment, a little afraid too just because in truth, she was afraid of just about everything. At least involving people. But she had decided along time ago that she trust Darrin and she really liked him and being with him. So without further thought, she carefully moved forward and snuggle up close and wrapped her arms around his middle and held herself close.

Darrin closed his arms around Angel and rested his head against hers.

"When I said I liked you, I meant it." He said, lips brushing her hair. "And I'll mean it for as long as you'll have me."

Angel felt her chest tighten slightly; she had never heard anything like that before. Sure her parents told her all the time that they loved her, her siblings said it too. But this was different for her somehow; he sought her out, welcomed her into his home and took care of her. He made it a point that he wanted her around. She propped her head up to look up at him with her lips slightly parted, searching for something to say.

Darrin merely smiled and tilted his head to place a light peck to Angel's lips. He pulled away and rested his forehead against hers, locking his eyes with hers.

Angel smiled warmly as she looked up at him. It might not have seemed like much, laying out in an alley by some trash in the ghetto. But it was a nice night, warm with a summer breeze blowing through her hair and the moon was clear and full. And just being able to lay there in his arms made it perfect, and feeling wanted for the first time in a few years made a big difference. She kept her eyes locked with his, and though he had already done so, she wanted to lean forward and kiss him again.

both of you have made up a very nice romantic novel, you should try publishing the novel, i am sure you will get the best results out of it!
