Franky was out about, just going for a midnight cruise in the ‘stang. It was hot and stuffy in the house with Lorain so it was a bit cooler outside with a nice summer breeze. He didn’t have a destination, just burning some gas and wasting his time while he drove around and hoped nothing happened to him or his car at this hour in the ghetto.

Candice had just finished up her shift at the strip joint and was now dressed in her street clothes and was in the midst of pulling her hair out of its ponytail as she stepped out onto the sidewalk. She ran a hand through her long brunette hair with a sigh and smiled slightly, eager to head home to spend the rest of the night with Haze as she normally did. She might have to work a 'rough' job, but she always made it a point to be a parent first.

She was heading towards her car parked in the lot just down the road when she heard someone whistling and calling her out, using her stage-name.

"Heeeey, Camille, sweetheart, why don't you come over here? I'll give you a pole to dance around." A man called, leaving another one in hysterical laughter.

Candice bit at her lip, resisting the urge to turn and say something to them, not wanting to dignify their antics with a reaction, and kept on walking. This, however, was the only reaction they really needed.

"Hey, I was talking to you!" The man shouted again, a visible slur edging his words. Heavy footsteps could be heard behind her and soon enough Candice could feel a meaty hand grab her wrist. She spun around and looked up to see a large patron of the strip club scene, who was accompanied by a lesser looking man in size.

"Let me go." She insisted, trying to yank her hand arm back.

Franky was passing the strip joint when she saw a woman getting off it looked like, and some shady guys hanging around. At first, Franky just slowed up and kept an eye out. Just to be on the safe side, his Mom danced for a little while and had been roughed up by some disrespectful customers before. So it was in his kind, hero-like nature to watch out for the woman. Especially after focusing his eyes and seeing it was Haze’s mother. But he saw a larger man grab her wrist and from there on, Franky felt he needed to intervene. So far, anybody who had recognized him had been quick to step out of his way. But he was no Kid, not everybody was intimidated. He stopped his car and immediately got up, marching over with no fear.

“Hey! Let her go!” Franky yelled at him upon approaching.

Both Candice and the man stopped with their struggle with one another and looked up to see Franky coming towards them. Candice looked relieved, however, the man didn't look the least bit perturbed with furrowed brows and a curled snarl.

"Or what?" He asked.

"Yeah, or what, tough guy?" HIs counterpart repeated.

“Do you really want to find out, junior?” Franky growled threateningly.

Franky was actually the bigger one in their gang, The Kid was the leader and tall. But he was lanky with dogs to take care of him. Rodney wasn’t really strong so much as he was fast. And TJ was always loaded up with guns and knives; he didn’t really need to be big or strong. Franky however, was tall and built with muscles and could hold very well on his own in a fight. Minus his bad knee from when he was shot, but he had his car. No running really necessary.

The man went to reply but growled instead as he released Candice and shoved her Franky's way.

"She ain't even worth the fight. She's prolly loose as HELL." He said, walking off.

"Yeah, loose." His friend mimicked as he too followed.

Candice stumbled forward in her heels and fell right into Franky, placing her hands out to stop her from slapping into his chest too hard.

Franky snarled and wanted to press a fight after that comment that pissed him off. He had respect for woman who danced, at least the ones who did it to put food on the table for a family. Dancing doesn’t make you a prostitute or a whore, and it pissed Franky off to hell and back when people made that assumption. But instead of going after the assholes, he gently gripped Candice’s shoulders and pulled her away carefully. He looked down at her with concern and kindness in his eyes.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Candice smiled warmly up at Franky, almost as if the whole tiff didn't even happen. She reached up and brushed her hair from her face and took a step back from Franky. She eyed him over and her eyes lit up when she realized she recognized him. "You're Haze's friend, Franky was it?"

Franky smiled proudly.

“Yeah, that’s right.” He nodded, happy that he was remembered.

"Well, thank you SO much for this. I appreciate it, really. Most of the time the bouncers have to come and manage the situation, you know?" Candice said with a slight laugh and shrug as well as a sincere grin on her face.

The thing about Candice was that she wasn't ashamed of her work, she didn't know how she could be. It was a profession she was able to get into and one she did well enough to provide for her and her son. So, when speaking to anyone in reference to her job, she was normally quite open and blunt about it.

“Well they’re not doing a very good job tonight. But looks like I made it just in time.” Franky nodded with a slight grin. He looked around and not meaning anything by it, just trying to be helpful he asked.

“Are you walking back home?” He asked, intending to offer a ride.

"Well, I'm parked down the road, but its quite a ways." Candice said, making a face as she looked down the road. She normally parked a good seven blocks down the road from work for privacy reasons.

Franky glanced over at his car that was parked…In the middle of the road still.

“I can drive you over there if you’d like, to where your car’s parked I mean.” Franky offered.

"That'd be lovely if you could." Candice said, smiling.
