"Mm, just a few territory fights. I got a bad knee and a bunch of screws in my femur from the worst of them. Some guy ran off, grabbed his car and plowed right into the fight. It hit me and Luca both, but I got the worst of it. All in a days work though." Haze nodded, flaunting a rather proud smile. It was no secret he was fond of Luca and would do anything for him.

Franky nodded approvingly, they all were the same way with Sydney, Rena and Franky more so. “Me and BB took quite a few hits for The Kid” He commented.

“Yeah, none of us seemed to mind. Colette complained here and there but nobody cared for her much to begin with.” Franky chuckled, remembering what a jealous and catty girl Colette was. “The last time I went out with the gang and we got into it I took a shot for Kid, right in my knee. I wasn’t a strong runner to begin with but after that I was put on get away car duty.” He added, laughing some still. Much like Haze, he was proud of his gang days.

"None of us can afford a car yet, but apparently Luca's saving up. He doesn't want to use his dad's car and we don't want to use any or our parents things to get us by. I especially don't want to use my mom's things. She worked hard for them." Haze nodded, thinking fondly of his mother.

Haze paused for a moment, pursing his lips and looking down tto he cup which he was tracing the rim around with a finger.

"My mom doesn't need to know, she's got her own worries. I figure, she's done a lot for me, the least I can do is support myself and give what little money I have left to her." Haze said.

Franky furrowed his brows; nobody directly told Lorain what they were doing. But it was assumed she just knew, she never said anything though. She just took everyone in and made sure they were all taken care of.

“I’m sure that’s not the case, it’s not my place to say of course. But in my opinion, as your mother and your guardian…She ought to know when her child is in danger.” He said, gripping onto his coffee mug and looking down into it. “I mean, there was a policy we USED to go by, since none of us could really do it. But it was simply, don’t do anything you would be ashamed to tell your Mother.” He said.

"I'm not ashamed of what I do, I couldn't be, but I just don't want my mom to worry, she does enough of that already. Besides, I want to be able to take care of her for once too." Haze said, peeking up to Franky. "She's a good woman, but because of me she's been through a lot. I know she doesn't regret it, and I know she loves me, but I still want to be a good man and take care of her."

“That’s very grown up of you, Haze. There are better ways to do it, but do what you need to do. I respect that you’re man enough to take care of your Mom, or at least want to.” Franky nodded, glancing up at Haze. He didn’t want to encourage the ‘gang way of life,’ but that’s how things were in FM. And it wasn’t his place to say, let alone contradict. He did the same thing for Lorain, but he felt guilty at this point. Franky hadn’t seen his Mom is about 15 years, he couldn’t own up and take care of her.

"I know there's better ways." Haze said, grinning some. "I have a job now, you know? Two of them actually, one for the summer, and another in the fall through a work program at school. It fits in perfectly with my debate club, drama, and band too, even."

“Jeez, you’ve got more going on for you then I did at your age.” Franky laughed some finally. Franky didn’t even go to school hardly. Just then the waitress arrived with Haze’s order. The hamburger and fries with ranch on the side. She sat it down in front of him before pausing.

“Is that all?” She asked.

“Unless he wants desert that should be all,” Franky nodded at first before looking back up at her. “Actually, whip up another burger and fries in a doggy bag, to take home.” He said.

“Not a problem.” She nodded, once again flouncing off obediently.

"Well, I figure that if I can't exactly TAKE CARE of my mom like I would ike, the least I could do is make her proud. I'm a straight A student and an active member in all the different programs, even sports." Haze said before diving into his food. He took a monster bite out of his burger and quickly chased it down with some water. "How come you don't just eat here?"

"What? No no no! You should eat too!" Haze insisted, a dot of ranch at the corner of his lip. "You've already done too much for me!"
