No one with any big names really came from Fort Morgan besides infamous drug lords or gang members. Except for Shaunan. She's the one who got away with her novel trilogy, matching CD and small time voice acting career. But to give back to her little town; she owns a ramen bar.

Angel was just finishing up her shift at work, eagerly anticipating Darrin’s arrival. Today the game plan was that Darrin would pick Angel up from work and they would drive to Angel’s appointment to get the baby all checked out. She hadn’t been working at the Ramen shop for very long, but she grasped how they did things there very well. She sometimes ran their shop and merchandise section, sometimes she worked in the kitchen or cleaning up, but mainly she served as a waitress.
She had developed a good relationship with the owner; Shaunan, and got along well with all her co workers. She wore her hair in a pony tail with no make up; seeing as Angel was more of a natural beauty. Her uniform wasn’t loose nor snug, a long sleeve dark maroon t shirt and black slacks with a little apron around the waist. But that was only the winter uniform, it would change to something more festive in the spring and summer. Shaunan was a creative and ‘spiritual’ woman; she did yoga and practiced fung shui, she believed in ghosts, werewolves and vampires, in short she was superstitious. But in the cold seasons she would make sure the workers all had warm and cozy uniforms and in the warm seasons, would dress them as gypsies.
It was strange to Angel, but a job was a job and the people were nice no matter the customs.
Darrin was sitting back at the Corsante pack's hideout with Gwen while Haze and Luca had ventured out to answer what they considered a menial threat sent their way from another gang in the area. Evidently, the threat was issued out because the Corsante pack had "ventured into established territory", but in actuality the pack usually dealt everything out of the hideout house (a rundown shanty shack on the skirts of town) or out of the park, which wasn't technically anyone's territory to claim. It was an unwritten law really amongst the gangworld that the park was neutral territory, or was supposed to be at least.
Gwen sat sulking on the couch, upset that Luca had told her to stay behind because she'd gotten pretty roughed up a few days prior in a scuffle and she needed to kick back for a few days. While she was fussing over that, Darrin sat at the fold out table at the center of the room, sorting through the "goody bags" and placing them in their appropriate stock. He'd promised Angel that he'd lay off the dealing end, but that didn't mean he could exactly slow down in the other department of organizing and obtaining. He had to at least do that much.
He looked down at his watch and pulled a face. He was supposed to go get Angel pretty quick to take her to her doctor's appointment. They hadn't much of the resource to go to the doctor's as much as they should, so to Darrin, this appointment was of the utmost importance.
"How long do you think it'll take?" He asked Gwen as he spun around in his chair.
"How the hell would I know?" Gwen huffed, chewing at her lip in a flustered manner.

Angel was leaning against the bar, counting her tips when one of the waiters she had befriended walked up and fondled her stomach.
“Oh my, you just keep getting bigger by the day Angel-pants!” The man said affectionately. Jason Fox was a gay waiter at the Ramen shop, he was tall with black hair that was swept to the side of his face, his eyes were round and brown with long lashes. The man was lanky and often times from behind, confused for a woman. But he never dabbled much in cross dressing.
“Yeah, I see a doctor today for the first time.” Angel smiled at him.
Everyone was nice, but Shaunan and Jason were the only two who went out of their way to make friends with Angel.
“Do you get to know if it’s a boy or a girl yet?”
“I actually want it to be a surprise.”
“Well that’s no fun, I wanna know. How am I supposed to shop for a baby shower if I don’t know what it is?”
Angel laughed and shook her head. “Just don’t buy me anything.”
“You’re impossible; anyways when is Darrin coming to get you?” He asked with a sigh, resting a hand on his hip.
Darrin and Gwen exchanged a few words, engaging in menial conversation for a few minutes, but had fallen silent since then. They sat quietly in the hideout, Gwen still fuming, and Darrin simply sitting in his chair in a lounging manner, a sigh escaping his lips every so often when he'd look at his watch. He kicked his head back and closed his eyes, hoping that Haze and Luca would get back and relieve him for the day so he could head out. He NEEDED to get to that doctor's appointment with Angel.
He hummed quietly to himself, but promptly stopped when he head a slight ruckus outside. It sounded like a trashcan had fallen down and taken a few things with it. He jolted upright, as did Gwen, and furrowed his brows as he looked to the entrance of the hideout. He looked over his shoulder and exchanged a look with Gwen before deciding that it'd be best to investigate. He eased himself out of the chair and slowly made his way over to the door, Gwen following behind him, her hand in her pocket to grab her pocket knife.
Darrin waited a few minutes with bated breath as he listened intently. When nothing else was heard beyond the fallen trashcan, he went and reached for the doorhandle, but before he could even open up the door, it was kicked open and sent him stumbling backwards into Gwen. Several ruffian teens came barreling in and just like that, the previously silent hideout was thrown into chaos, and Gwen and Darrin were left to fend for themselves, outnumbered and unprepared.

“Alright shoog, I’ve got to get back to work. You be careful and let me know how it goes.” Jason waved at Angel before strutting away to seat a couple.
Angel sighed, fiddling with a necklace she was wearing idly for a few minutes before putting on her coat and going to sit in front of the window and wait.
The brawl had lasted all but a few minutes, but the damage left behind was devastating. Gwen was leaning heavily against the wall in the corner of the room with her knuckles bleeding from fight bites from the few times she'd managed to land a punch. Her legs were scuffed from thrashing about and her hair was a muss, but beyond that, not damage was done to her. The table where Darrin had been sitting was toppled over and the goody bags were either strewn about on the floor or were in the pockets of the other gang members coats and pants as they left. The other few pieces of furniture were toppled over as well and a few of the chairs were even broken, but in actuality nothing was in worse shape than Darrin himself.
Darrin laid on the floor, an arm wrapped around his aching side where he'd be struck repeatedly, and a hand at his chest. His fingers curled tight around the fabric of his sweater as he tried to settle his breathing in hopes of slowing down his rapidly beating heart. Much like Gwen, his hands were busted up, but not all of the wounds were from fight bites. One of the other gang members had whipped out a knife in the midst of the fight and while the wounds Darrin got from the knife were minimal, they bled more profusely (albeit not much due to their shallow nature). His face ached and he wasn't sure, but it'd felt like his nose had been broken. Blood drenched the lower half of his face and between that and his heavy breathing, he felt like he was drowning.
Gwen looked Darrin's way and pulled a face as she stood up on shaking limbs, barely making it over to him before collapsing back down. She managed to catch herself on her knees and hands before hitting the ground. She pushed back Darrin's hair, to keep it from sticking to the bloody mess on his face.
"Oh shit..." She uttered before looking around for either his phone or hers or ANYONE'S really. She managed to locate her phone, to only realize it'd been smashed in the scuffle, before Darrin coughed and began to speak to her.
"My...my phone's in my pocket..." He said before letting otu a slight groan. He took his hand from his chest and fumbled around his waist for his pant pocket where sure enough he pulled out his phone.
Gwen quickly snatched the phone and went to call Luca before Darrin coughed again.
"Call Angel...she's probalby still waiting..." He said, pulling a slight face.
Gwen looked at him in disbelief.
"You're thrashed to hell and back, we have to get you help, and you're worried about your girlfriend? What the hell, Darrin!" Gwen said, shaking her head.
"We'll get help, but we need to," he paused for a slight groan, "but she needs to know first so she can call my family and have someone get her...someone needs to pick her up."
Gwen looked at Darrin intently before huffing, changing her plan to call Luca to call Angel instead.

Angel was biting at her lip when Elizabeth, the bartender, waved her over.
“Phone for you,” She called.
Elizabeth was a foreigner, well, she was from England. Her parents moved to the states and didn’t have much to live on so they ended up settling in Fort Morgan. Elizabeth was a smart and good girl, no drugs or whoring or gang activity. She was a well sized girl with curly blond locks and blue eyes, and an adorable accent to match.
Angel jogged over and hastily snatched up the phone.
"Hey, Angel, this is Gwen, I uh...I 'work' with Darrin with Luca and junk." Gwen sputtered quickly, not sure how much Angel knew about the gang situation or even herself. She couldn't imagine that Darrin would tell his pregnant girlfriend much for stressing reasons. "Look we've had a...incident and we need you to call Darrin's family or whatever and have someone pick you up and uh...I guess meet us at the hospital." She looked down to see Darrin pull a face, shaking his head and mouthing 'not the hospital'. Gwen shot him a look. "Yes. The hospital."
Darrin let out a quiet groan and lolled his head to the side.

Now, something careful about Angel that everyone has to, and has come to the understanding that; she is a cry baby. She cries over everything damn near, however, Darrin’s mother has been setting a good example for her. Angel has been practicing keeping calm and asserting the situation with confidence and clarity.
Angel, fighting back her tears, nodded silently to herself before speaking.
“Yes, I understand. Do you need me to do anything else?” She asked.
"Uh..." Gwen looked to Darrin, giving him a light nudge. "Do you hvae your medication?" She asked, her voice low. Darrin gave a grunt and a slight shake of his head. "He definitely...needs a change of clothes and I don't know if he still needs it now or whatever, but he doesn't have his medication so if you can have someone grab that and...that's all." Gwen said before tucking the phone to her shoulder and chin, holding it plaec while she attempted to help Darrin sit up.

“Alright, I’ll get off here and get it all taken care of, tell him I love him and I’ll see you guys there.” Angel said swiftly before hanging up and dialing Darrin’s parents.

After calling and collecting the family and Darrin’s change of clothes and medication; the family all bustled into the car and swiftly boogied on down to the hospital.
Gwen had managed to pack Darrin up in the car and call Luca and Haze (mostly to bitch at but...you know) to tell them where they were off to, and had safely (for the most part) gotten Darrin to the ER. After tending to a few cuts and bruises the both of them had, the doctors had given Darrin's nose a good look and sure enough it was broken. However, besides the cuts, bruises, and a broken nose, everything else was all honky-dory.
"Angel's gonna be upset." Darrin said to Gwen, who was sitting in the chair in the room they'd been placed in. Darrin sat on an examination table while a nurse wiped the blood from his face, prepping him to get his nose re-set.
Gwen gave a roll of her eyes.
"I'm sure she'll just be glad you're not DEAD, as, you know, it is a career hazard for our line of work." She said, spinning in the chair before hopping off and making her way to the door. "I should go wait for your family or something because I know that I don't want to be around when they re-bust your nose." She said before swiftly exiting.
"Yeah, thanks, you're so pleasant, Gwen." Darrin gave an eyeroll. In all honesty, he was truly thankful, but the way Gwen said and went about things...it made it hard to actually express it.

By this point Angel and Darrin's family were waiting...in the waiting room for word from Darrin's doctor on his condition and when they can go in and see him. Angel had been shaky but managed to stay calm enough to call the baby doctor to reschedule their appointment.
Gwen sauntered out of the room and headed down the hall towards the entrance. She had barely made it ten feet before she stopped in her steps as the sight of Darrin's family caught her attention. His mother and father were currently sitting side by side, hands clasped together with Hannah's head resting on her husband's shoulder. Both of them wore calm and collected faces, but the way their eyes looked sad and anxious gave away their cool facade. Darrin's sisters were nowhere to be seen, as they'd run off to the cafeteria to grab sodas and what not, but there was someone else with Jake and Hannah. Angel.
Gwen blinked as she looked Angel over. She was a pretty little thing, so she had to give Darrin props. Heck, Gwen assumed she probably had a nice figure too before it all went funhouse mirror pregnancy on her. She was snapped out of her observations when a doctor strode past her and over to the Remfields and Angel. Gwen followed after, mostly to make sure that the doctor didn't blow their story of "simply getting jumped", which in all fairness, was half-true.
Hannah and Jake looked up, first seeing the doctor, and then Gwen. Hannah, being the maternal woman she is, quickly eyed Gwen over and frowned. She'd known Gwen, Luca, and Haze for many years and had developed a certain motherly feel for all of them, especially for Luca and Gwen due to their mother situations. She stepped over and placed an arm over Gwen's shoulders and pulled her over to where she previously stood. She eyed Gwen's bandaged hands before looking up to the doctor.
"Missus and Mister Remfield I presume?" The man asked. He was tall and lanky with a gaunt face and thinning hair. His eyes were sad looking, like he'd seen too much go too wrong in that town over the years, which if anything was absolutely possible. Fort Morgan was rough, and emergency room victims were made daily.
